My very first librarian blog post! In the style of the great Austin Kleon, here are 7 things I thought were worth sharing:
Picture
  1. Need some help researching for your curriculum? Just send me an email!
  2. Want to start off the the school year with a literary bang? Then be sure to attend the Brooklyn Book Festival on Sept. 17th & 18th!
  3. Talking to your students about our upcoming election? Then head here and here.
  4. Want to get a $700 grant so that you can take your students on a field trip? Then get busy and apply for a Target grant today! The window for applying for a grant is between August 1st-October 1st.
  5. Want an alternative to Newsela? Smithsonian's TweenTribune is another leveled news source for your students that is worth checking out!
  6. Are you a MS or HS teacher who teaches US history? Then check out Zoom In!, a new free resource that will help your students better use primary and secondary sources.
  7. Summer is almost officially over, but it's not too late to check out the summer issue of Rethinking Schools magazine!
